This 60% peas and 40% oats mix offers a combination of nitrogen-fixing peas and a mineral-mining, nurse crop of oats. The peas produce rapid and heavy plant mass and oats yield dense, high-quality leafy growth and a soft structure for minimal effort to terminate and rapid decomposition. Planted in late summer/early fall, this crop will overwinter in mild areas and winter kill if temperatures drop below about 10°F. Early spring planting is also a great option in colder regions. Recommended seeding rate: 3-5 lbs per 1000 square feet; 75-100 pounds per acre.
